IPPT for Operationally Ready (OR) NSmen
Once you complete full-time National Service and become Operationally Ready (OR), you continue to have annual IPPT obligations for the duration of your NS liability — typically until age 40 for most vocations.
Unlike NSFs, OR NSmen self-book their IPPT within an annual window, manage their own training, and may qualify for ICT exemption benefits on top of the cash incentive.
NSman IPPT Awards & Benefits (2026)
The Gold Advantage: ICT Exemption
National Service Award credited directly to your account when you achieve Gold (75+ pts).
Eligible for up to 8 days ICT reduction per year. Frees up precious annual leave days.
Silver award (61–74 pts) earns $300 incentive. No ICT exemption.
ICT exemption details vary by vocation. Check with your NS unit or ns.sg for current policy.
Age-Adjusted Scoring — How It Works
IPPT scoring adjusts for age so older NSmen need fewer reps and a slower 2.4km time for the same score. Your score goal changes as you age — not the award threshold (Gold is still 75+).
| Age Group | Gold 2.4km ≤ | Pass 2.4km ≤ | Push-ups for Gold (approx) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 22–24 | 9:44 | 13:01 | ≥ 60 reps |
| 25–27 | 10:00 | 13:20 | ≥ 56 reps |
| 28–30 | 10:15 | 13:42 | ≥ 52 reps |
| 31–33 | 10:30 | 14:02 | ≥ 48 reps |
| 34–36 | 10:50 | 14:25 | ≥ 44 reps |
| 37–39 | 11:10 | 14:51 | ≥ 40 reps |
| 40–42 | 11:35 | 15:22 | ≥ 36 reps |
| 43–45 | 12:00 | 15:58 | ≥ 32 reps |
