Common questions

IPPT Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most searched questions about IPPT scoring in Singapore

The minimum passing score is 51 points out of 100 for both NSF and NSmen. You must also score at least 1 point in each of the three stations (push-ups, sit-ups, 2.4km run). Scoring zero in any single station is an automatic fail, regardless of your total points.

You need 75 points or more for IPPT Gold, which earns a $500 SGD cash incentive. Silver is awarded for 61–74 points ($300), and a Pass is 51–60 points (no cash incentive). Gold also entitles NSmen to an ICT exemption of up to 8 days per year.

The IPPT has three stations: push-ups (maximum 25 points, reps in 1 minute), sit-ups (maximum 25 points, reps in 1 minute), and the 2.4km run (maximum 50 points, based on finish time). Total is 100 points.

NSmen who score below 51 points, or score zero in any single station, must attend Remedial Training (RT) at an SAF fitness centre. RT consists of structured exercise sessions to bring your fitness up to the passing standard. After completing RT, you will reattempt the IPPT.

Yes. Female participants follow a separate, gender-adjusted scoring standard with lower performance thresholds across all three stations. The award tiers remain the same — Gold (75+ pts), Silver (61–74 pts), Pass (51–60 pts). Select "Female" in the calculator above for accurate results.

Yes. NSmen who achieve IPPT Gold are eligible for an In-Camp Training (ICT) exemption of up to 8 days per year, in addition to the $500 cash incentive. For working adults, this is a significant benefit — it can mean up to two weeks less NS service annually.

IPPT uses age-adjusted tables across 9 age groups (18–24 through 60+). Older participants need fewer push-up/sit-up reps and can run the 2.4km more slowly to earn the same points as younger participants. View the full IPPT score table to see your age group's exact standards.

NSmen can attempt the IPPT multiple times within their IPPT window and use their best result. The cash incentive is paid only once per window. Check the NS Portal for your personal window dates.
