Understanding the tables

How the IPPT Score Table Works

The IPPT score table shows exactly how many points you earn for each number of push-up and sit-up repetitions, and for each 2.4km run timing. Every station has its own chart, and the tables change by age group and gender.

Push-Up and Sit-Up Scoring

Push-ups and sit-ups each contribute a maximum of 25 points. Points are awarded for every repetition above the minimum threshold for your age group. Younger participants need more reps to reach maximum points; older age groups have progressively lower thresholds to keep the test fair across different fitness levels.

2.4km Run Scoring

The 2.4km run contributes a maximum of 50 points — half your total IPPT score. Run timing bands are approximately 40 seconds wide for the younger age groups, widening for older brackets. Even a 40-second improvement in your run time can add 5 points to your total score.

How Age Groups Affect the IPPT Score Chart

The IPPT scoring chart is divided into 9 age groups from 18–24 up to 60 and above. For each year you move into an older age bracket, the required reps and run times become slightly more lenient. This age-adjusted scoring ensures the test measures relative fitness rather than raw performance.

Male vs Female IPPT Scoring Chart

Male and female participants use separate scoring charts. Female standards require fewer push-up reps and a slower 2.4km run time to earn the same points. Both genders use the same award thresholds: Gold (75+ pts), Silver (61–74 pts), and Pass (51–60 pts).

What is the Zero Station Rule?

Even if your total score is above 51 points, you will receive an automatic fail if you score zero points in any single station. This means you must complete at least the minimum number of push-ups, sit-ups and run time to receive any points in that station. Failing to complete any station results in mandatory Remedial Training (RT).
